About our work

We believe that a community that opens up the channels of communication between one another, will be able to better address the difficult issues that face us all.

We launched our “Keep Ashford Talking” campaign to support young people and families in Ashford who are experiencing conflict by providing them with the skills to mediate.

‘Keep Ashford Talking’ is spearheaded by the Ashford Mediation Service (AMS), but we partner with the Kent Police, Ashford Borough Council, Kent County Council, Victim Support, Restorative Justice, Ashford Volunteer Centre, Citizens Advice, the Kent Police & Crime Commissioner’s Fund, and many, many more local organisations, all designed to work with individuals and community groups to create a more harmonious living environment for all who work and live in the borough and beyond.

The Kent Police & Crime Commissioner’s Fund has generously awarded Ashford Mediation Service a grant to increase the targeting of its services to young people and families living in deprived communities in the borough.

The Office of the Kent Police and Crime Commissioner works with a number of partner agencies including criminal justice, Community Safety Partnerships and the voluntary sector.

Ashford Mediation Service provides free confidential and impartial mediation services to residents of Ashford, Kent who are experiencing conflict with others.
