Details of a new job vacancy for a Part-time Case Coordinator at Ashford Mediation Service. Ashford Mediation Service (AMS) a charity, established in 1997, provides free community mediation services to families, neighbours, and communities across Ashford Borough, Folkestone, and Hythe. With recent funding from National Lottery Awards for All, we can offer this new role as part of our phased development plan. Please note, whilst we are hoping to extend this post for a further three years beyond this initial year, at the moment, the post is for one year only. We are looking for someone who can work flexibly from home and at our hot-desk office spaces in Ashford and Canterbury, Kent. Ashford Mediation Service will be attending the Domestic Abuse and Awareness Support event at the Town Hall Undercroft in Hythe between 10.30am and 2pm on Friday 8th May. The event is hosted by Hythe Town Council and will also see Folkestone & Hythe District Community Safety Partnership, Folkestone & Hythe District Council, and Rising Sun Domestic Violence & Abuse Service in attendance. Elloise and Melodie from Ashford Mediation Service recently attended the Eat Well Spend Less Roadshow as part of our ongoing community work to Keep Ashford Talking. Elloise and Melodie from Ashford Mediation Service The event at the Park Mall Shopping Centre in Ashford brought together a range of partner organisations including frontline NHS staff and Ashford Borough Council (ABC) officers, outreach organisations and charities, in one easy-to-access place. Melodie Webster, AMS Operations Manager, recently attended the inaugural Ashford Pride event as part of our community work to Keep Ashford Talking. Everyone was welcome to participate in the festivities at Ashford Pride. The event was held on Saturday 22nd June and was an opportunity for the community to come together, show support, and have a great time. Ashford Mediation Service recently gave a talk at a Speaker Meeting of The Rotary Club of Ashford. Tessa Wyatt and Sandy Malone of Ashford Mediation Service gave a talk to the group about how the service works, as well as examples of the variety of the help available. AMS provides training opportunities and courses to mediators and volunteers. We will be running a Mediator Training programme in the New Year. This course is free of charge to attend. Ashford Mediation Service is thrilled to be able to offer places on its Mediator Training programme taking place in October. Ashford Mediation Service is providing a five-day Mediator Training course at the AMS offices on Tufton Street in Ashford in October. The course is free to attend and is delivered by accredited mediator Tony Hamlin, who will work with participants to develop their skills and approach to manage the mediation process. The programme runs for five days and participants must be able to attend all of the dates.
